Disgraced New Westminster Community First School Board Trustee, Dee Beattie finally resigned after months of New Westminster parents, teachers, students, residents, NWP Trustee Danielle Connelly, Councillors Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas called upon her resignation.
NWP President, Karima Budhwani, states, “With an upcoming by-election now imminent, our community is finally able to turn the page on a dark chapter on School Board.”
The NWP Board of Directors is proud to officially announce Kathleen Carlsen as its candidate in the future by-election for School District 40. Carlsen has the trust of New Westminster students, parents and teachers and is committed to making our community better through her advocacy, compassion and strong ethical values.
Carlsen states, “I’m so honoured and thrilled to receive the support of the NWP Board of Directors and I’m looking forward to engaging with the community and winning the confidence of New Westminster residents to become School Trustee.”
