Teo Dobre to run as School Trustee candidate with NWP

New Westminster (June 23, 2022): Mayoral candidate Ken Armstrong is pleased to announce that local
parent and active lifestyle champion, Teo Dobre will be joining the New West Progressives (NWP) team
as a school board trustee candidate in this October\’s civic election. Dobre is an active community
volunteer and resides in downtown New Westminster with his young family. He believes physical
education and an active lifestyle are not only proven ingredients of proper development, but also keys
to combating the negative effects students have experienced during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am thrilled to welcome Teo onboard,” says mayoral candidate Ken Armstrong. “The tireless efforts he
demonstrates in serving New Westminster and the local Romanian community are exactly what we
need in our Board of Education. He brings energy and perspectives to the education of our upcoming
generation of students.”

“As a young father, the well-being and development of my son and his peers are always top of mind for
me,” says Dobre. “We have all witnessed how the recent pandemic has caused an unwelcome detour to
our children’s education and development. I am excited to run with the NWP because I believe our
common belief in engaging with parents and students so they are active participants in our schools will
make sure our students’ mental and physical well-being remains a priority.”
