NWP Board lays foundation for 2022 election success

The New West Progressives Board has met regularly since the last civic election in 2018. While the pandemic has disrupted many of our community engagement plans over last year, the Board has been meeting to discuss plans for the 2022 civic election. This includes establishing a new Nomination and Candidate Recruitment Committee which has already started to undertake its work plan.

\”It\’s hard to believe we will already be heading to another civic election next year,\” says Daniel Fontaine, President of the New West Progressives. \”There remains a lot of work to do, but unlike the last election where we only had 12 months to establish our elector group and nominate candidates, we have more time to prepare.\”

This fall the New West Progressives will begin recruiting candidates for the Mayor, Council and School Board positions. An application process will be announced and posted on the website encouraging anyone interesting in running with the NWP to put their name forward.

\”It\’s early days, but we\’ve already had an amazing amount of interest from local citizens who want to run with the New West Progressives in 2022,\” says Fontaine. \”Our team topped the polls in places like Queensborough and had an amazing showing in the last election. We hope to build on that success next year.\”
