Fontaine makes pitch for equitable approach to provincial police funding

City Councillor Daniel Fontaine made an appearance on the Mike Smyth Show on CKNW today. He was there to discuss the recent decision by the BC Government to provide the City of Surrey with up to $150M in funding for their police.

“There needs to be a level of fairness and equity when the provincial government hands out funds to Metro Vancouver municipalities for policing,” says Fontaine. “Our local police are also facing critical pressures when it comes to recruitment, retention and keeping our streets safe. Additional resources from Victoria could go a long way to address some of these issues.”
