City Councillor Daniel Fontaine made a special appearance on Rock 101 FM’s Willy in the Morning Show and chatted with co-hosts Willy and Kim about the recent story of Price is Right giving away a trip to New Westminster. Fontaine heard from a local resident the hosts were ‘trash talkin’ New West so he reached out to Willy to find out what happened and he was invited on air to discuss.
“It was a blast to be on with Willy talking about New Westminster as a great tourist destination”, says Fontaine. “It was good to learn that not only did both hosts not trash talk our city, they openly declared they really love New West! I guess that means I’ll keep listening to Rock 101!”
Willy and Kim thanked Fontaine for being a city councillor and openly remarked politics was not in the cards for them anytime soon! They also provided Fontaine with the opportunity to promote the Royal City as a tourist destination and he spoke about some of our amazing neighbourhoods, restaurants and theaters!
“If I hear that someone is out there ‘trash talkin’ my city you can rest assured I’m going to be calling that out”, joked Fontaine. “They were really good sports to allow me on. We all had a laugh and also got to further promote New West as an amazing tourism destination at the same time.”
