Community First moves to introduce two-tier income-based ticketing in BC

Earlier this week New West Mayor Patrick Johnstone introduced a motion – that if implemented – would mean the cost of your next speeding ticket would depend on your income.

The motion passed 5-2, with only NWP Councillors Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas voting in opposition. When a similar motion was introduced at Saanich City Council, nobody was prepared to second the motion – so it died on the order paper.
